Stilt Walker

Stilt Walkers have a big impact on any event. Most people notice and enjoy the spectacle even if they choose not to engage any further with the act.

I am a first class mix & mingle artist and at almost 11 feet tall I'm one of the tallest walkers you are likely to meet. With several superb costumes (and my unique puntley,) I have lots of funny lines and really add atmosphere to an event.

When mingling I use "dura-stilts" for extra stability and safety, though in shows I often use lighter stilts.

Children in Need is obviously a very popular charity. We like to do our bit too. In 2002 Andy and I walked a 12 hour Stiltathon and raised over £3,000. We attracted generous donations from Barclays, Alderbury Spar and Red Funnel Ferries who allowed us to balance on the car deck as we crossed the Solent It was great fun.

The lightening storm that passed directly over our heads made the last 20 minutes very interesting. The BBC put out a radio appeal as they were convinced we were going to be struck. We had however taken shelter in a shopping Mall where the Security Guards were adament that we either get off the stilts of we go outside and risk a lightening strike. For the sake of the cctv cameras they pretended to argue with us for half an hour so they could at least be seen to be doing their job.

Jamie helped at the Festival of Circus Talent the following year. This is us at The Furlong in Ringwood.
