The Ghost of this Motley Hall

Jonathan the Jester

Jonathan the Jester is a very energetic and multi-talented jester.

Justyn Time

If you want another highly recommended jester with a very funny & special show....

(ask him how he gets money for old rope - you'll be glad you did)

....and very advanced juggling skills then Justyn Times' web site is well worth checking out.

Justyn makes all of his own costumes and uses only authentic materials. Lots of pics and other good links.

Peterkins the Fool

Peterkins the Fool is one of the best Jesters in the world today. He is an olympian stilt walker and a very funny, original performer

Barney Bay

Barney Bay isn't just hilarious, he is a former British Juggling Champion. Superb with all ages and a lot of variety in his act... and look at his great hat.

Kevin Burke

The Oficial Jester of Northampton.

Mysterious, Magical, Inspirational, he is Sensational.
Here he is in his official Motley.

Tarot

Taro was our first "Jester of the Year" way back in 1996. He has appeared on Blue Peter a couple of times too.

Taro is a professional stunt man and has appeared in "Dr Who" and "Blakes 7" amongst other things What a hero!

Tim Foolery

Tim Foolery is a genius on the street.

Lots of characters and guises accompany this highly theatrical thespian fool. A professional director and an accomplished circus comedian, Tim is simply brilliant.

John Ballanger

John the Juggling Jester is a sharp witted assumed fool who not only knows his history but has a mastery about him that will engage you for hours.

Titled "Jester of the Globe" for his work at "The Globe" and all over it.

Hector the Jester

The most tireless, insane, maddest of all genius.

Hector the Jester AKA Professor Crump is the man. His bicycle for stilts is astonishing.

Vic Ellis

History didn't stop in the dark ages, and this One Man Band is the ultimate minstrel come jester.

Vic Ellis entertains all ages the world over with an enourmous reportoire of historical songs and rhymes.

Sylvester the Jester of Leicester

Another insane minstrel for your banquet. Sylvester is able to get everybody involved, even the smallest and youngest in the court.

Jeb the Jester

Jeb is an extremely skilled circus performer with a very positive and humourous attitude. He is a great person to have at any event. jester.

Jamie the Jester

Jamie was the youngest person ever to be invested into the National Guild of Jesters at Just 15 years of age. Very popular for his good looks and charm, Jamie is a fast developing star of the future.

Tarquin the Jester

Tarquin also masquerades as Topper. He'll tickle you pink and is a noted performer from Kent with a prestigeous reputation. Tarquin is a Brilliant Workshop instructor and a fantastic multi-talented performer.

Stuart Ashman

Stuart is a legend in the juggling world. In fact it is partly his fault that so many people can juggle better than I.

If you read the memoirs of Contemporary Jugglers, they all help perpetuate the legend of Stuart. Stuart is funny. Stuart is lovely. Stuart is a giant among jesters. Oh and he used to edit a magazine called "The Catch!"

John Caudrey

This is John. It's a brilliant picture and you can only see the back of him. That's how good he is. He can pose with his back to you. John was the guy that made me want to learn tall unicycling. John is one of the finest jugglers with a superb and sublime understated wit that shall endear you greatly.

Tamara Eastman

Tamara is an authoress who recently travelled from Virginia in the USA to spend time with us in the Guild. We had a fun day out in Salisbury and she stayed in a haunted room at Muncaster Castle while she was here. Here she is trying to stop me from falling over.

Jake the Jester

Steve Kliski is a brilliant act. In Jun 2005 he caused a real headache for judges at Muncaster Castle, he was as good as Jem and it was a hairs breadth decision. Jake is without doubt one of the jolliest and funniest men since Tommy Cooper. He is also a consumate magician and a bit of a Stand Up as well.

Jem the Jester

Jem is the only Jester in UK to be appointed to a family in a castle. He recently became the official Jester of Muncaster, beating a superb field of competition to serve the Pennington family.

Dee the Famous Jester
Jem the Jesters Arch Rival.

Dee is in the habit of upstaging Jem and can usually be found up in Cumbria. His humour and his love of life are infectious. Instead of wearing a Cockerills crown, Dee likes to use a rubber glove.

Dee to Shop assistant: "Excuse me sir, have you any of these washing up gloves in another colour?"

Shop Assistant: "Why Sir - Did you want them for evening wear?"

Mr Merlin

This Marvellous Scorcery gets around by Organic Magical Means. Hunky Dory is a free range Dragon and his droppings are now disposed of in accordance with all UN agreements on Nuclear Waste.

Of Course, Okey Dokey is a law unto himself but is still available for Childrens Parties. The bloke in the pointy hat is quite funny as well.

Louise Lear Jones

Louise Lear is her own fool and an awesome ringmistress

Louise is the first lady to become a full member of the National Guild of Jesters. And she probably had to travel further than anyone else to get to Muncaster.
Raised in the circus, Louise is now a proud mother of two. The youngest is a natural escapologist (no cot is strong enough to keep her caged) and the eldest is sharp wit too.
If you go to her website you can read her fantastic poem: "There's a space ship on our Car Park Mam!"

Uncle Cranky

Joel Dickenson is an amazing multitalented young man with a great future ahead of him. His ability to try new things and pull them off spontaneously is just the tip of the ice berg. I worked with him in Glasgow and he exceeded my expectations.
His prestidigitation is masterful, his drawling delivery is eccentric and enchanting.

Pixie

One of the youngest members of the guild. Pauline may be young with a lot to learn but with balloon modelling, tight rope walking, stilts and magic in her young reportoire she has a lot to offer for the future.

Jeremy the Jester

Jeremy is another young jester in training. His stilt walking is great, the kids love him, and his involvement in an improvised show is really constructive. One of the most useful members of my team at The Table Top Circus

Jester Jack Green, The Officially Unnofficial Jester of Mercia

Jack is not yet a full member of the guild, but he is a recognised peer, an accomplished performer and community artist.

The Crowning of Kevin of Northampton.

This photo was taken shortly after we had tipped kevin head first into a bucket of glop made of custard, beer, fish and heaven knows what else. Yeuck! Did his queen kiss him?
